Greater Washington Consumer Confidence Survey
The Greater Washington region’s Consumer Confidence Index jumped a solid seven points between December 2008 and now, from 49 to 56, according to a new survey released on May 7, 2009 by the Greater Washington Board of Trade. The survey shows a significant rise in the optimism of the region’s economy, high expectations for future economic conditions and confidence in employment.
Greater Washington Business Outlook Survey
Greater Washington’s business executives expect the regional economy to improve in the fourth quarter, according to a survey of the region’s business executives conducted for the Greater Washington Board of Trade. The survey’s Business Outlook Index, which indicates regional business executives’ assessment of current economic conditions and their expectations for the future, jumped 29 points from February 2009 to June 2009.
